U.S. State Viewer Voting #14

Hi! Gekko0923 here. I'm hosting a new series called "U.S. States Viewer Voting." In this series, you viewers vote for a state based on the voting mode. There are several voting modes, including voting to eliminate and voting to save, among others. Depending on the voting mode, one of the states will be eliminated. The states have been divided into 6 groups of 6, and each group has been given a team name.  Last time, various states were UFE.

In Episode 13 of Viewer Voting, the recently formed Cardinals were up for elimination (UFE).  The voting mode was Vote to Save.  Now, let’s reveal the results….

Gekko0923: What a challenge!  Our first two states safe, tied with ten votes, are West Virginia and South Dakota.  Congratulations!

*West Virginia and South Dakota fist bump*

South Carolina shoots a worried glance at Maryland, which North Carolina catches.

North Carolina: Be worried, South Carolina.  People like me more, so you have all rights to fear!

Gekko0923: Next state safe, with 8 votes, is North Carolina!  Good job.

NC: Hah, I knew I would be safe.

MD: Someone remind me why he’s on our team.  Does anybody like him?

South Dakota: We need to work together, stop bickering.

Washington DC: The next state safe is South Carolina, with 7 votes!

*SC sticks out tongue at NC*

NC: I still got more votes than you.

Gekko0923: It’s down to our final two states!  Maryland and North Dakota, one of you will be leaving us today.

DC: The state safe with 1 vote is… Maryland!  Sorry North Dakota, but you’ll be leaving us today.

ND: Well, it was fun while it lasted.  Thanks for having me Gekko.  Good luck Cardinals, hope one of you wins.

Puerto Rico: Where… where am I?  No.  No.  I’m where I’m supposed to be.  US wants me here… and I do what US says, right?  Right?  Maybe?

Puerto Rico (talking to himself):  US isn’t here… he left Gekko and DC in charge to host the series… the series Gekko is writing…. No… Kasayahan wrote this.  Wait, no.  US said I can’t do this.

Puerto Rico: *stares into the sky and lets out a bloodcurdling scream*

Puerto Rico: I mustn’t break the fourth wall… yes.  No.  I mustn’t do that.  US said never to do that.

Puerto Rico: But… but US isn’t here.  He isn’t here.

Puerto Rico:  Canada told me US was always watching.  NO.  HE’S WATCHING.  Please….  Please, someone help….

Gekko0923: Hello, and good morning, states.  Today we have a new challenge, and the loser will be UFE.  Please get with your groups.  I will return in 20 minutes.

The states all get into their newly formed groups, and start discussing what they think the challenge could be.  20 minutes pass, and Gekko returns over the intercom.

Gekko0923: For today’s challenge, all groups will have to design a flag for their team.  Similar to last challenge, I will be grading them on a scale of 1-10, and the team with the lowest grading will be UFE!

Idaho: What are some ideas you guys have for the flags?

Wyoming: Ugh, I’m not sure, I suck at drawing.

ID: That’s not much, does anyone else have ideas?

Utah: We could do something with a cactus and a sun, or maybe a cowboy, since our team name is the Wild West.

Colorado: I like that idea.

Nevada: Yeah, I like that idea.  We could maybe put a casino on the flag as well.  I love casinos.

Montana: Umm, let’s not.

ID: Well, I guess we should get to designing.  If anybody comes up with more ideas we can add them.

The Outsiders

Connecticut: I have no idea what we’re going to do for out flag.  Does anybody else have ideas?

Alaska: Nah, I’m out.

Hawaii: Let’s just do a basic tricolor.  A basic flag is better than an ugly one, and I’m sure the other groups are going to try way too hard and mess up badly.

Vermont: I don’t have any better ideas.

Oregon: Maybe we should add a symbol in the middle just to add a little more detail.  Maybe a pine tree or something.

Washington: What colors should we use?

AK: Well, me and Hawaii are located in the Pacific, Oregon and Washington are on the coast, and Vermont and Connecticut are near the Atlantic, so maybe blue for the ocean, yellow for the coast, and blue for the ocean?  With a symbol on the yellow?

CT: Logic isn’t that great, but sure, let’s do it.

The Rebels

Michigan: So… who has ideas?  I think maybe we should combine all of our state flags into one big flag.  It wouldn’t look that bad.

Florida: Well, we can leave that idea up, but maybe we should brainstorm some more.

Illinois: I agree.

Massachusetts: We should just put an outline of the US on a white background and call it a day.

Minnesota: What!  No, that’s a horrible suggestion.

MA: It was just an idea.

Texas: Let’s just make Michigan’s idea and see how it looks.  It won’t take too much effort, and if it looks bad we can make another.

FL: Alright, fine.

New York: Let’s make a flag!

Virginia: Yeah!

Pennsylvania: We should do something about superheros.

Georgia: Er, let’s not.  We’re not even named after the Avengers.

PA: That’s a shame.

New Mexico: I heard the Outsiders were doing a tricolor, we should do the same.  Only we make ours better than theirs so we get the higher score.

Arizona: I’m down for that idea.  Let’s make it and see how it looks.  What should our colors be?

VA: Red, white, and blue obviously.

NY: So… basically France?

AZ: No, France is blue, white, red.  Ours will be better.

VA: Let’s make this flag!

The Underdogs

Maine: What should or flag be?

New Hampshire: Let’s do something humorous.  I’ve heard Gekko has a great sense of humor.

Kansas: I like that idea.  It’s creative and original.

Iowa: Hey, we should put a dog under an umbrella.  And it should be raining.  I don’t know about you guys, but that’s hilarious to me!

*whole team cheers enthusiastically, while laughing*

Missouri: I love that idea, let’s get to work immediately

Kentucky: Yeah!

The Cardinals

South Dakota, South Carolina, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland

South Dakota: Ugh, I still can’t believe we lost that last challenge.  Our name rocks.

Maryland: And I was so close to being eliminated!

*MD shudders*

SD: And my northern counterpart got eliminated, sadly.

North Carolina: What should our flag be?

South Carolina: I won’t work on the same flag as him

NC: Hey, I still got more votes than you.

West Virginia: Guys, stop arguing.  As North Carolina already asked, what do you guys suppose our flag should be.

MD: Maybe a cardinal on a blue background.  It would be simple and aesthetic.

WV: Our team name is what got us eliminated last time.  I’m not so sure.

MD: Come on, we can put small print at the bottom of the flag saying “our team name and flag have no affiliation with the baseball team of the same name as us,” so Gekko knows that we don’t support the Cardinals as a baseball team.

WV: Alright, fine.

Gekko0923: All the team flags are done!  Me and DC will now be going around and grading your flags.  Good luck teams!

The Wild West

Colorado: I really like our finishing result.  It really captures the theme of the Wild West.

Idaho: I agree.

Gekko0923: Well guys, let’s see your flag.

Gekko0923: It doesn’t really remind me of a flag, but I like the look you were going for.  Sticks to the theme of your name as well.  I’d give it a 6/10.  Do you agree DC?

DC: I’d give it a 7.

Gekko0923: The Wild West come out with a score of 6.5/10!  Good job Wild West.

Alaska: Hey, it doesn’t look half bad!  I hope Gekko likes the pixel art!

Oregon: It was a marvelous team effort, and I love the flag!

Gekko0923: You say your flag is good, but is it really?  Let’s see it!

Gekko0923: Interesting, you used pixel art.  It doesn’t look half bad for a tricolor though.  I’ll give it a 7 out of 10.  DC?

DC: 7/10 for me as well.

Gekko0923: The Outsiders get a final score of 7/10!

Texas: I agree.

Gekko0923: Let’s see it then.

Gekko0923: Oooh, I like the idea, but the borders clash horribly.  It’s a 5/10 for me.

DC: I’ll give it a 6.

Gekko0923: The Rebels emerge with a finishing score of 5.5/10!

The Avengers

New York: Alright, our France flag is done.

Arizona: It’s better than France!  Behold!

Gekko0923: Wow… it’s almost as if an identical copy of France could be worse than the flag of France, which sounds impossible.  3/10.

DC: I agree, 3/10.

Gekko0923: Sorry Avengers, but you’re currently in last place with a score of 3/10.

Missouri: Gekko, you’re gonna love our flag!  It’s hilarious.

Iowa: Behold!

Gekko0923: I see what you did there…. It’s a dog under an umbrella.  I’m so amused.

Gekko0923: In all seriousness, this flag sucks.  I’ll give it a 2/10 for effort, and since it was slightly funny.

DC: Aww, I’ll give it a 3/10.

Gekko0923: Sorry, Underdogs, but you’re now in last place with a score of 2.5/10.  Good luck, and one more team to go.

Iowa: Aww, I really thought he would like it.

The Cardinals

Gekko0923: Well, it’s time for our last team.  Let’s see what you guys got.  Also, I won’t be going easy just because you attended the UFE ceremony last elimination.

South Dakota: It’s simple and aesthetic, you’ll love it.

Maryland: Plus, we added a little bit saying that we don’t support the Cardinals as a baseball team!

Gekko0923: Haha, I see what you did there with the text.  Not sure if I like the text, but at least the message is conveyed.  The flag is simple and doesn’t look half bad, so I’ll give it a 7/10.

DC: Same, 7/10 is my final score as well.

Gekko0923: The Cardinals get a final score of 7/10!  This means that the Underdogs will be UFE!  Good luck Underdogs!

Canada enters a dark room, lit only by candlelight.  He glances around, and what he sees haunts him. He turns away, and focuses his attention towards the center of the room.  A swivel chair in the center slowly turns, and Canada instantly recognizes the person sitting in it.

USA: Well, it’s time we meet again, little brother.  I’ve been expecting you.
