Introducing Tile Select Quizzes

+1

Starting today, you'll be able to use JetPunk to create and take quizzes that we call Tile Select. Just go here to get started.

These quizzes require users to select all the tiles (by clicking or tapping) that apply to a given statement. There will usually be multiple questions in a quiz.

It is a brand new quiz format which I was lucky enough to create by being able to work for JetPunk again, like I did over summer.

We hope you have fun taking and creating these new quizzes!

Let us know here if you have any questions about the new tile select quiz editor, alternatively you can contact us via email.

Nice. How do you add a photo to a tile?

You can use html img tags. Although only use images on Wikimedia or Pixabay to avoid copyright issues. We may decide to add the option to add a picture (like picture quizzes) in the future if this is a popular request.

Can you give an example of the code that might be given to put in a picture?

It's not a simple thing to add. Adding the option to add a photo question would be a major job. Just look on w3schools for help on the IMG tag. Using Imgur image links, or image addresses from JetPunk images fit in the tile size.

I tried following their instructions, but I hit the character limit for the tile. How can that be avoided?

Just do ‹img src="link"› where link is a URL (JetPunk image addresses by right clicking an image and copy address will fit, also Imgur links fit too). Although remember to use <> not ‹› (If I used the normal ones then it would register as HTML and not show up)

When I try doing that, just looks like this on the quiz-

That's the URL to a quiz. You need a URL to an actual image file. Simply right click an image and copy the "image address", this will give you a URL to the image itself. Simply putting a webpage into an image tag will do nothing since that's a webpage, not an image.

Ok thanks I can put a picture in the quiz instructions now. But, when I appempt to do it on a tile I hit the max character count often

The quiz editor does make it confusing to add images. If you paste in a link, you need to remove the unnecessary " /" (2 chars) at the end of the img tag. The easiest way to solve this issue would be to increase the character limit by 2.

Yes please that would be helpful

Would it be possible to change the colours on these quizzes like we can in the text quizzes? Other design features would be nice, but I mainly want the colours.
