"Dogana" means "Customs" in italian, and it is NOT a city in San Marino. San Marino is a country made of nine "castles", and the one with the higher population is "Serravalle".

The most obscure one I got was Bassaterre. That's just from practicing for the country capital quizzes on the site, I've never been there. It always helps if you have visited a place to remember it, of course. Easier than just trying to memorize a list of names that you know nothing about. Many people who have taken a cruise around the Caribbean have probably visited some of the more obscure answers on this quiz. The least-known place I have been to here is Manama. Actually I have an apartment there.

Well, well. I've been spending most of my spare time doing quiz for the past two months, and only today did I learn the correct English spelling for Kathmandu - I'd been spelling it Katmandu and it had always been accepted so I thought it was right. Uh. I also didn't know there was any other city than Vaduz in Liechtenstein. I had always surmised it was close to being a city-state. I learn new things today! :)

Citypopulation.de is one of the only sources I have found that states Guangzhou is the biggest city in China. I'm not saying they are incorrect because I agree with their population stats but it is just a bit strange how few people have heard of Guangzhou and how few websites recognise it as China's biggest city.

That probably has more to do with how few people know about Chinese cities than anything. Guangzhou is very well-known and widely acknowledged as a very large city in Chinese communities, perhaps as important as Shanghai.

Apr 20, 2014
Where on Earth did you get that from? Cebu is tiny compared to Manila. Go to both places and you will see there is a huge difference. And Quezon City is a suburb of Manila, part of Metro Manila, and therefore probably counted as part of the urban area. I've never heard anyone assert Cebu City was bigger than Manila before, that's just bizarre.

The problem with Vaduz andSan Marino, among others, is that in those countries there is not a classification of urban areas, so the data for the municipality (city proper) is taken into account, with the result that uknown suburbs wins because they have more population than the capital. Anyway, for Liechtenstein I have a reliable swiss source, claiming that Vaduz is the most important city (being the first named) of the transnational agglomeration of Vaduz-Buchs! Schaan it is only a part of it. It's in french, but really easy to understand. http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/fr/index/regionen/11/geo/analyse_regionen/05.html

Fun quiz, 187/196. My family hails from Trinidad, so I'm part of the 1% that got it but I was still surprised about the Chaguanas. If this quiz is including metro areas, then the metro area of both Port of Spain and San Fernando should definitely exceed 100k population. Most Trini people would argue that San Fernando is the largest city by its metro population. It's semantics, since either way the Chaguanas isn't usually considered a city--more like a municipal region. The two "cities" of Trinidad are San Fernando and Port of Spain, and citypopulation.de only gives the populations of their cities proper in contrast to the entire region of the Chaguanas. The metro population of Port of Spain is probably around 130k, but I can't really find a source for the entire metro population of San Fernando unfortunately. It's worth looking into though.

Missed ten, though I was a little surprised at Malta. As far as I'm aware Valletta has an urban area encompassing about 350,000. Given this is the vast majority of Malta's population, it seems surprising to find another town is bigger. I'm assuming this is just using the population of the historical town of Valletta (only about 6,000 or so), as opposed to its urban area.
