it is not any neighborhood...Delhi NCR is a union territory and New Delhi is a new city in Delhi built by British which is capital of Delhi NCR as well as India...
Saying New Delhi is the capital instead of Delhi is like saying that Westminister is the capital of UK, not London, or that Chiyoda is the capital of Japan, not Tokyo.
also for example in london and manchester there is greater london/manchester yet no one says that london is a neighbourhood of greater london and manchester is a neighbourhood of greater manchester
Because I am from India, i can just tell you that New Delhi and Old Delhi are both different things. They are right next to each other but New Delhi has more advanced technology than Old Delhi, AKA. Delhi. Thats why the keep it seperate.
Actually, Old Delhi isn't the same as Delhi. Delhi is the national capital territory. It contains several cities (or sub-cities) within it, the most notable of which are: New Delhi, Old Delhi, Dwarka, Rohini and Shahdara. New Delhi also happens to be the capital city of both – the territory and the country. The territory is divided into eleven districts. New Delhi is also a district.
Then, the NCR is a big area which includes nearby cities of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad and others.
Oh yeah, that's true. About 3/4ths of Indians live in rural areas. Only a quarter of Indians actually live in cities. So we have many cities with populations in their millions and yet the people in the cities are the minority XD
You should accept Raipur for Bhilai. Considering they're both about the same size (1 mil) and in the same greater metropolitan area. And Raipur is the capital.
That must be the origin of my favorite cucumber - poona kheera. It grows great in my garden and doesn't get bitter with age. I always wondered about its name. (It looks like a russet potato when it gets older, but still tastes good.)
If you are willing to consider the Raipur - Bhillai - Durg Tri city metropolitan area, shouldn't the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan region should be considered. It has a population of over 5 million. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visakhapatnam_Metropolitan_Region
i should retract this request anyway. the NIC (an Indian institution) uses "Lucknow" rather than "Lahknau", which is probably just a very bad alternative spelling
2 cities from Madhya Pradesh, 3 cities from Maharashtra, 2 cities from U.P, 2 cities from T.N, 2 cities from Gujarat and 1 city each from Rajasthan, W.B, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Punjab and Karnataka
Visited 5 of these on my recent visit to India (Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Jaipur and Surat). This quiz is a lot easier now after visiting and learning a bit more about the place. I always used to suck with Indian cities.
Using Raipur is more correct, because Raipur is the biggest of the 6 cities in the urban area as well as capital of the state. And Raipur is also being recognized by people across the world as it has hosted multiple events such as The FIH Super League in 2015 and Road Safety Super Series in 2021.
The reason behind usage of Bhilai is that Bhilai used to be bigger in 90s. When Chhattisgarh state was formed in 2000 Raipur became the capital and slowly surpassed Bhilai. Although Raipur as an smaller constituent Urban Area (which includes Raipur itself Birgaon and Naya Raipur) only surpassed smaller constituent Urban Area of Bhilai (which includes Bhilai, Durg and Charoda) in 2010.
Quizmaster I would also like to suggest to make a top 50 version of this.
And Coimbatore name has been changed to Koyampuththoor so please take this name as well.

sounds closer to a "lahk"

although Lucknow could easily be the name of an eastern german or polish city...
