Nice quiz. I've never seen (or even heard of) Y Tu Mamá También, so that took a few guesses!

it's one of Cuaron's first movies. And Lubezki is the cinematographer. Check both of them at IMDB and you will be amazed at the level of movies they have worked on.

Funny, I was just delving into Lubezki's filmography yesterday after watching 1917 with someone and talking about this recently popular trend of making movies with extremely long shots. And I recalled seeing the same thing before in Birdman, and Gravity, and Children of Men, and way back there was that one scene in Goodfellas... turns out Lubezki was cinematographer on 3 of those films.

Long takes existed far before Lubezki.

Yes but it had recently become a popular trend in movies and probably not for the first time

Downfall, the movie where the Hitler rant videos came from. Funny enough, I forgot about it. Oh well.

I can only imagine how Hitler would take this news.

I took a wild guess at "Downfall" because the English title didn't sound that familiar to me. But I immediatly knew the movie when one of my guesses was actually correct and I thought about that for a second.

Cool quiz. Should make a series of it.

Great quiz. A good mix of geography and cinema: that's all I like!

City of God was pretty impressive, especially considering it was more or less an all-amateur cast (as the big boys told me).

Yeah I love that film. Someone recommended it to me when I started learning Spanish, to help with pronunciation etc. That well-meant suggestion set me back about a year...

One of the highest-rated films ever at iMDB. I tried to watch it once, based on this, but lost interest about 30-50% through. Didn't like any of the characters; couldn't sympathize with how they idolized petty low-rent thugs; had no interest in seeing how their lives unfolded. I feel like most people are significantly more interested in watching gangsters running around shooting people, committing crimes, etc than I am. I never got the utter fascination. Could never get in to the Sopranos. Just couldn't bring myself to give a crap about who was getting whacked next. Or the Wire. Appreciated the artistry of the Godfather but always felt like it was overrated. I did love Breaking Bad, though...

Easy, got them all. However, it's pretty gross that the movies for India are both by white filmmakers, considering the wealth of actual Indian films made by, well, Indians.
