I disagree, based on average score at 3 minutes it seems you were just special. Right now the average after 3 minutes is just over half, reducing the time would make that even lower. This is about memory not speed typing.
Moldy Prince Phillip is riding an austrich, wearing a burka, holding a cube, and gabbin' with a Mongolian bos who's georging on a tray a' chile. The frog says, "kan ya ribat and roam any a continent?"
Let's see, you got Moldova, Philippines, Austria, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Gabon, Mongolia, Bosnia, Georgia, Eritrea, Chile, Kenya, Romania, and apparently two others I can't figure out...
I got USA, Guyana, Peru, Finland, Mongolia, Laos, Brunei, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Botswana. Not in that order, but I grouped them by continent in my head.
Roaming any continent is a reference to the country that causes the most controversy on Jetpunk continent-based quizzes. Ribat is a reference to Kiribati. You got most of them. :)
North Colombian Papa is in New Guinea, in the Southern part of Africa, with the bell and ice. It already was Liberty, but he was a mad man in a gas car. The swiss in the land cracked an egg in the yet to be a united kingdom. More itiusians came! One named Georgia wanted more occo’s wanted to wait for the Ku.
i basically picture the countries of the world map from the quiz on this site and fill them in in my head, a lot more fun than grouping or making a proper mnemonic
A friend who memorizes card decks told me that the preferred method in that field is to visualize a room that you know very well (probably in your home) and mentally scan the room from the entry point. You should find a way to pair each card (or country) with the place that it falls in the order..."Nigeria is on the coat hook. Sweden is on the side table..." and so on. I personally have not had much success with this method, but he swears by it.
In my mind when I memorized the list, I visualized the home I grew up in, room by room entering through the garage. In each room, I put a country, pairing it in some way with the room. For example, in the entry hallway I put Rwanda: "Hotel Rwanda" because of a long hallway in hotels. In the computer room Brunei was the hands on its flag as someone using the computer to type. When I went to recall the list, I walked through the house in my mind and picked up the countries room by room as I went. Excellent quiz! Thanks!
Finally got them all by visualising the journeys between the countries on the world map, taking the 3 columns separately. I imagined that I was in a humanitarian relief plane delivering supplies all over the world.
Nice quiz. 1:30 is OK, maybe 2 minutes for slow typers.
I've got 14 of 15 in the first try.
I grouped the countries like this:
1 was my home country
2 were continental micro-nations
3 were island-nations
2 where south american
3 of the remaining were european
3 of them were african countries
1 was Thailand as the only undisputed asian country
1 was Cyprus... there's so much discussion about Cyprus that it was impossible to forget :P
Memorizing the countries of each group is a lot easier than all of them, but I still missed one of the african countries, Morocco, because I remembered the beginning letters of those grouped countries and got Mozambique for M, thus forgetting about Morocco...
Not that people necessarily care to see another comment on a method for perfecting this but what I do is group the countries by continent and then close my eyes and visualize a world map in my head. When I say the name of each country I will physically move my hand to point to/make the shape of that country. Using this method I got 15/15 each time I used it.
the united states and iran were fighting, so the durable fire marshall banged the door down with syrup because he was hungry. the rest i used my echoic memory. this actually worked btw
I was Austria, and I was also in a Russia. All of a Sudan, Mozambique and Myanmar just Maldives in a pool. My friend Dominica discovered that Syria's real name is Philippines. Canada you believe that? The mail person, Lithuania, said that North and South Korea combined into Korea. Now I am Cambodia, ready to see more!
Actually got them with 1 second to go. But it is tough! I made acronyms (4 letter words for the first two rows) and I remembered them but not all the countries, so for some I was just left with the starting letter. The last row I sort of memorized/repeated as a whole. But man so many countries were suddenly gone from my head haha (the last row, which I repeated just before starting, and the first one of row 1 and 2 were there, I had to dig a bit for the others)
Edit: I had "kist(z)" "yuteb" and the last row didn't really looked like a word, but remembering 5 right before you start is much faster probably and will take up less memory for the others. lets say immediate memory versus short term. The last row was "D.R.Congo+ glus" I guess I could have done glus. But didn't
15/15
