I have a friend who has actively refused to learn new countries or names. In his world, there's still Yugoslavia, USSR, Czechoslovakia, ... and a lot of new countries simply do not exist. A funny geezer, good entertainment with his "principles". (which, needless to say, do not end at "I'm not learning new countries")
As always with official languages, it's interesting which countries speak the language that don't have it official and which countries don't speak it but have it as the official language. Somalia, Comoros, and Djibouti are not really Arabic speaking countries. Meanwhile, a lot of people in Israel and South Sudan do speak Arabic.
Thanks for the response!
