Yes because Russia is not an Asian country, *but* it holds a lot of Asian territory, which is why the caveat was added for only land in Asia, because Russia definitely has the largest portion of land in Asia.
This quiz only includes the portion of Russia that is in Asia. It's still the largest even when you cut out the 4,000,000ish square kilometers in Europe. Russia is huge.
Yes it's in NATO but that doesn't make it European. It's capital is in Asia, a lot of it's population is In Asia, a lot of it's GDP is in Asia. The only exception is that the western half of the Bosporus is European, and that has a lot of people. It's not fully Asian, definitely Transcontinental. but we don't see people calling Egypt part of Asia, or Indonesia part of Oceania, even though that is a much more loosely defined region.
