Guess all the lyrics for this song. It could be any song from any artist of any genre in any decade. Guess the words and try discovering which one it is!
To complete the "Song title - Artist" answer, you must type it all together. For example: "Bohemian Rhapsody Queen".
I think this kind of quizzes should be limited to big hits or acclaimed songs, that one is from a popular band but wasn't even a single or part of the 2 succesful movies using their songs so that's a big nope for me !
I kinda agree with you. When I took other users' Guess the Lyrics quizzes, I sometimes got angry when they used a not known song. But, since I started creating my series, I noticed the quizzes with most takes are the ones with lesser known songs!
The first one i did (#40), which happens to be the one with the most takes, is to me one of the lesser known songs in this series. On the other hand, the #68 is a VERY popular song, and is the one with the least takes. So yes, big hits are easier to remember/get, but people seem to be more challenged by non-hits. I really don't know.
Anyways, I'm trying to shuffle very known songs with others that are not very known. In the 20 quizzes you will find a big variety of songs - from 80s big hits to not-that-famous bands of the 00s.
(Also, matter of fact, this is my favourite song by this band. Very sad it didn't get that much attention back then!)
I think a lot of people get a little obsessed with 100%ing quizzes, so when its a more obscure song they'll try over and over until they get all the words. That's my guess anyway!
Thanks for the series gustavo. I enjoyed it. However, I am in agreeance with Nassim and feel better known songs would make them more enjoyable for me personally.
Also, is there someway to include the song name and band either in the quiz in the answers? Just a suggestion.
As I started the quiz at #40, my goal is to create the #1 to #39 quizzes with big hits (I already did the 38 and 39). I just need to get time to think of what songs would fit there now - picking up the top 10 charts from UK/US? Or just songs that became meme? Or perhaps only songs from 21st century? Would, let's say, Iron Maiden be known enough? It's very subjective. But I recognize #45, #51, #55 and #61 are really not even close to being famous under any parameter. They were supposed to be really hard, just for the lulz haha
And yeah, I also feel like it would be good to include the song name somehow. I just don't know how! I thought of putting an extra rows with SONG NAME, for it to be guessed, or perhaps just adding it to the comments (but it would make easier for people to cheat, because I know many players who read the comments before doing the quiz). I'll think of that before creating those new quizzes. Hope you enjoy it when they are published :)
Also, I would argue that "big hits" would be like peak rating #1-#5, with additional preference given to bands that are generally more famous over "1-hit wonders". Maybe a cross-reference of US and UK charts to try and get songs that were at least close to that in both, or you could pick some that were #1s from each.
Ultimately, though, just pick whatever songs you want.
Unless you've since changed which song 68 is, I had literally never heard it prior to looking it up after the quiz. I am (of course) familiar with the artist, but there are plenty of other songs I am way more familiar with through these quizzes. It's worth remembering that some songs are regionally more or less popular, especially (but not only) across different countries.
That said, my dream would always be to take one of these and happen to find out it's a song I'm extremely familiar with that is otherwise not all that popular. Hasn't happened yet, to no real surprise, but I'm holding out hope. There are probably 2-300 songs I could score >95% on on my first try that fit this category, so it's not like 0%, it's just garbo%.
I was going to complain that with these updates I won't know which "Guess the Lyrics" quizzes I've taken and which I haven't, but I guess I just need to pay attention to the numbering: #70 and higher will be the new ones.
Oh, and thanks for making these quizzes! They're great.

I thought of filling up the numbers from 1 to 33, but perhaps it will be smarter to continue from 70 to 100 before
