A good test. Shouldn't Brussels be on the list? Seems like some capitals moved continent too eg Banjul and Yaren listed under Asia.

Brussels is not fixed at the moment. Did you re-submit the quiz after a change? Otherwise it won't have been implemented.

Good idea but very badly made - lots of mistakes (Brussels, Pyongyang, Conakry, Banjul, Yaren)

cOnAkrY as the Y is a vowel in that instance.

"Very badly made"? Well at least this person bothers to try and make quizzes. How about you have a go yourself?

It's a fallacy that you can't critique someone else's work if you can't do better yourself. There could be no sports commentators, movie critics, pundits, etc., t'were that the case. Constructive criticism should never be discouraged.

Yeah, but over-emphasizing the problem is just as bad as not commenting on it in the first place.

All of the things Quizmaster claims to have added are yet to appear - check if you have actually pressed to resubmit.

Would also recommend thoroughly checking every capital before doing so as this feels very rushed as there are many mistakes. Some such as Yaren are even in the wrong continent!

I agree with the above - in Conakry, the y is a vowel. If it stays in the quiz, you should at least add a caveat saying that y is always considered as a consonant.

I hate that rule. It's not hard to determine if Y is a vowel or a consonant. Conakry doesn't belong on this list.

Still doesn't belong on this list.

Great quiz! Nominated! (Although I agree about Conakry)

When I just did this quiz (on an iPhone), there was no space for Conakry under Africa, but I knew I was one short so had to wait for the final answers to have any clue as to the part of the world I had missed a capital in. If it’s remaining as an answer, a space should ideally be created in the actual quiz. Otherwise enjoyed this one!

You should really have a note that you're discounting Y as a vowel in all cases.

Else at least Conakry has three vowels, and plausibly Tokyo, Pyongyang. Easier to guess them given the information upfront, rather than needing to figure it out as you're going - especially since the timer is fairly tight. Also might want to move Kyiv into the 1-vowel group given recent trends.

Tokyo should be on the list. The correct pronunciation is with the y as a consonant, although English speakers often mispronounce it with the y as a vowel

I definitely agree with Conakry being excluded, as the y in Conakry cannot be anything other than a vowel. However, both y's in Pyongyang seem to be clearly consonants (otherwise Pyongyang would be three syllables). That being said, if Pyongyang is considered to have 3 vowels, then Kyiv should be on the list with 2 vowels.

'Y' is inconsistently chosen to be a vowel / consonant. Riyadh includes 'I', 'Y', and 'A' and is in the quiz, while Conakry includes 'O', 'A', and 'Y' and isn't in the quiz. Tokyo has two O's and 'Y' and is in the quiz however Pyongyang isn't.
