Greatly inspired by Dekkie's 1939 version of this quiz. Thanks!

Excluding uninhabited subdivisions (Jan Mayen) and Vatican City, as it didn't have any official subdivisions

Since there really aren't any sources for Iceland's municipalities (and because there's too many of them), I went with the constituencies instead

Including the one de facto state of West Germany

Got 92 total subdivisions.

Did the Netherlands really not have any?

At that point, the Netherlands consisted of the country of Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. I went with this model, since it's the standard FLS model in JetPunk.

Like the Kingdom of Denmark is consisted of the country of Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands.

Great quiz! Just one remark: Czestochowa is misspelled.

Great quiz, thanks! Could you please accept Keski-Suomi for Central Finland, since you accept Pohjois-Karjala for North Karelia.

Really liked the quiz. One remark about Switzerland: When I typed in Solothurn, the canton of Jura lighted up too, although it is a seperate answer as well

These quizzes are fun and sort of scary! I have to say though (sorry) that this 1989 version is even more wrong about Britain than they usually are: none of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or England was any kind of governmental subdivision in 1989, first-level or not. The Welsh and Scottish governments were set up around 1998 I think, and the Northern Irish one even more recently. England, of course, still doesn't have any existence in the sense of these 'subdivision' quizzes.

One thing to thank the Soviet Union for: naming subdivisions after its biggest city.
