Please note that this quiz was made lightheartedly and more as a bit of a joke. Unfortunately the source only goes back to 1950, which makes this quiz very similar to the featured Pakistan version. If you haven't tried that one out yet, be sure to check it out via the link in the third caveat!

Damn, it's kinda crazy to think that Nigeria (and Pakistan from the other quiz) will one day have more people than the US. I wonder if some day in the distant future it might even pass China or India.

I'm not sure if it will ever catch India, but perhaps China if given another hundred years or so. You're right, that is crazy to think about!

I've read that with the current birth rate in China they'll end the century with "only" 800 million people. That's quite reachable.

A bit confused as to if the 'population then' refers to Nigeria in the year that it passed the other country, or if thats the population of the other country it surpassed. Also how do you get Ukraine in 1950 - its part of the USSR but you are using its modern day borders and estimating its population back then? very confusing?

The 'population then' column refers to Nigeria's population in the year it surpassed the country. And you're right, with Ukraine it is the population within the modern-day borders according to the source.

Also, I can't imagine it would matter much which country the population figure was because their populations should be roughly the same.
