Vigo is on the wrong location. Also Nice and Marseille are switched

Cyprus and French Guayana are in the EU, also Iceland is missing on the map (even though in grey).

Cyprus and Iceland have been fixed, French Guiana was deliberately left out because it doesn't have a city large enough to be in this quiz

No Brussels in the EU?

Brussels is in the EU, but its city proper population is only 186,916 as it has lots of suburbs with similar populations, such as Schaerbeek (131,451) and Anderlecht (121,929)

I wouldn't call those communes suburbs. Brussels is quite decentralised, but it's a single city, much like London was up until 1999. It should be included here, with 1,2m residents.

If you want the real proper population of Brussels you should check on "Bruxelles-Capitale". It contains what is really considered to be the full city, without urban area.

Great Quiz by the way !

Scharbeek and Anderlecht are to Brussels what Ekeren and Berchem, for example, are to Antwerp.

Bruxelles-Capitale is a region, not a city, and is on the same level as Wallonia and Flanders. Inside Bruxelles-Capitale is the City of Brussels and 18 other municipalities (which include Schaerbeek and Anderlecht), as opposed to Antwerp, which is a single municipality containing nine districts (which include Ekeren and Berchem).

That's partly true. It's a region, not a single municipality. Whether it's a city however is a sociological question, not an administrative one. I'm sure there are other cities that consist of different administrative entities,

I would agree to that logic as well. I stopped taking the quiz after I saw large cities(urban areas more accurately) such as Brussels and Porto were excluded. But much smaller cities such as Vigo weren’t. I’m not calling the quiz creators data wrong cause it isn’t as far as the statistics for city limits goes but it’s was probably the wrong data set to use for this quiz and there should be a little leniency in what the original creator truly classifys as the true boundaries of a city as. I.E. In the case of Brussels I Understand your reasoning but I will have to disagree as there’s more to Brussels than the arrondissement or city’s limits. Visit Brussels mate. Even if you find yourself outside the city center and the small area that is the city limits you are very still much in Brussels and everyone there lives as if that’s reality. The quiz Would have been more takeable and made a little more sense if you had use Urban or Metropolitan Population Statistics.

I’m fairly certain this site has many quizzes which use the other measures, for various regions of the world and they clearly state at the top of the page which one they’re using. Which should stop arguments like this one but, well…

So, when you get a similar quiz based on the US, certain cities that you’d expect to see (e.g. San Antonio) aren’t on one, but are near the top on others. I hear Baltimore is a fair old size but it comes under the Washington area on certain quizzes. If I’m ever in the US, I’ll have to visit both and see just how big they are!

Probably a bit much to expect the quiz creator to make arbitrary decisions on which measure to use for 100 individual cities. Definitely too much to ask him/her to visit each one, possibly interviewing the locals to find out whether they feel like the live in the city or outside. Although not impossible, if you fancy the job yourself. Personally, I’d just thank the setter for his effort and leave it at that. Cheers guv’!

I'm not used to having to type the whole name for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Usually "Palmas" is good enough.

It’s really easy. Just type ‘Palmas,’ but without the P, the ‘m’ and the first ‘a’. Then write ‘Palmas’ again. And then you’ve still got it, without even needing to type half of the full name. It’s so quick, you’ll even have time left over to Google “first world problems,” although that is quite a bit longer to type…

I wonder how the population of Gothenburg ends up at 655,078. That's more than the city proper and urban area, yet less than the metro area.

Where is Brussels bro? Is it not the capital of EU and it is clearly bigger than Antwerpen (maybe you are only counting the communes but that's only bureaucratic shit)
