Books That Are Compromised By Cinematic Portrayal

Sometimes a reader of books may enter a cinema to see a movie just to see how a favourite character is portrayed. Example - Jaws - Quint - Robert Shaw is perfectly cast. Shark eats him! Not in the book! In my opinion... no actor can capture Heathcliff, Ned Kelly, Michael Collins or Kate Capshaw. My literary girlfriend was horrified by the portrayal of Orr in the Mike Nichols film that that character is in. Alan Arkin was perfect. Be that as it may... name movie from obscure hints.
