Maine is hard to judge, because Mane and Main are both ways of saying it

I agree more with removing the I, but technically both work

When we say Maine, it sounds like M-A-NE, with a large emphasis on the A. Thus, the I is left as a silent letter which we don't pronounce. In both words you gave, (mane and main), neither of them have emphasis on the I, unlike the word mine, which of course, has emphasis on the I. So, I believe that the I in Maine is a silent letter.

The E is not pronounced in Maine.

New Hampshire is also missing.

In order for the A to be pronounced in Mane, (the I is silent, so I leave it out) there must be an E at the end to emphasize the A. Without the E, it would read man. However, I do see your point. This will be added. I don't believe New Hampshire has any silent letters.

In Wyoming, Y is pronounced as a long i. W is definitely pronounced.

Hmmm, I didn't think about it this way. The letter Y sounds like the word why, which is the pronunciation in Wyoming. So, my thought process was that the W should be silent. However, you do make a good point, because, in many other words, the W sounds like a Y, while the Y sounds like a "yuh". This will be changed, and thank you for taking my quiz!
