Hint
Answer
Material which were on the tips of control rods in the RBMK reactor in the Chernobyl power plant, which cause the core to go supercritical
Graphite
Quantum effect which causes two particles to be linked regardless of distance. Observing one gives information about the state of the other particle.
Quantum entanglement
Hypothesised fourth exchange particle for gravity (think: gluons, photons, W bosons)
Graviton
Scientist who discovered that the universe was expanding at an accelerating rate
Hubble
Effect in some materials when the system is cooled past a certain threshold, electrical resistance drops to zero
Superconductivity
4 equations used to describe electromagnetism (eg ∇ • B = 0) are _______ equations. Named after a scientist.
Maxwell's equations
Name for the interpretation of probabilities in quantum mechanics which is widely accepted. Named after a European city.
Copenhagen Interpretation
These particles are released from the sun and pass through (almost) all matter. Extremely difficult to detect, theorised to have very little or zero mass.
Neutrino
Diagrams used to show particle-particle interactions. Named after a scientist.
As a mahjong master i feel especially worthy to determine that this jetpunk quiz is far too difficult. Even i struggled to get all of them right, and my IQ exceeds that of: Marilyn vos Savant, Terence Tao, Ainan Celeste Cawley, Albert Einstein, Edith Stern and even the elusive, Dr Pepper. I would like to formally request that you make this quiz easier.
However, i can appreciate that this may not be possible.
