As big of a Kris Kross fan I am, I could still only think of Chris Smith. I decided to put in Mac Daddy and I was so freakin' surprised it worked! XD

Lou Reed = Velvet Underground guitarist the way John Lennon = Beatles vocalist. Lou Reed was way more than the guitarist.

Boy howdy, Bob! You could say a lot more about all of them, even the ones for whom I don't care. It is not meant to be a complete obituary.

Phew... Thathcher, Ebert and Clancy were total new to me. Kind of depressing, but I guess at one point you have to let people go...

Kelly, Jones, "Paul Bearer," and Norton I never saw a single headline about but most of the others were pretty big news. Clancy probably got the least amount of coverage from those remaining, but though I forgot about him I do remember hearing something earlier this year.

"White Lightning" for George Jones? Really? Big Bopper did it first. Instead, how about the best country song of all time, the No-Show Ol' Possum's "He Stopped Lovin' Her Today"? (We had a 'possum who came on our porch every night and ate our cat food. We called him George Jones. Later a female started coming with him and we christened her Tammy.) Nobody sang country like George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
