Gah, my mind got stuck on Pygmalion, couldn't remember what the name of the adaptation was.

I missed "Seasons of Love" only because I cannot stand that musical... :/

I resent that it accepts Fiddler for Fiddler on the Roof, but not Phantom for Phantom of the Opera

Don't be angry, Phantom will work now. :)

With due respect, a number of these originate from movie musicals that some years later were translated into stage shows. Cases in point Mary Poppins, Lion King, Wizard of Oz

I got 11 and ONLY because I saw some of the movies. I've never seen any of these as plays.

I don't think the Broadway version (before the movie) of Wizard of Oz included Over the Rainbow. There have been post-movie versions of Wizard of Oz using the songs from the movie but I don't think they've run on Broadway. Anyone know for sure?

Wikipedia: "It was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz (1939) "

Some I know, even more I guessed just by typing famous musicals.

Is there a Broadway version that's actually called The Wizard of Oz? I thought The Wiz was the only adaptation that was on Broadway, but it didn't use "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

There's West End Wizard of Oz, but I'm not finding a Broadway production either.

Christian Bale in Newsies!

To the 48% who did not get Seasons of Love: I pity you.

I would love to see something from Avenue Q. Maybe 'The Internet is for Porn,' 'If You were Gay,' or 'Everyone's a Little Bit Racist.'

Totally throw a few people off, and its Tony Award winning! (It beat out Wicked the year they came out).

Yeah, as some others have pointed out, there isn't a Broadway version of The Wizard of Oz that uses "Over the Rainbow." In fact, the only Broadway version of the story I can find (besides adaptations like The Wiz and Wicked) is the 1904 version mounted by Baum himself, but that well preceded the song.

Newsies is brilliant - I wish more people knew of it. Thank you so much for including it in the quiz!
