This list was written in 2013, as far as I could tell. That would explain the exclusion of Interstellar - a movie that I enjoyed, although a lot of people dislike it for understandable reasons. Return of the Jedi should have been on here, and I think even Revenge of the Sith is better than some of the films included here. On the plus side, I was happy to see Gattaca and Contact.

Cool list! Would you accept titles without "the" and both Roman and Arabic numerals?

Great list! I would imagine a newer list would have Ex Machina on it as well, and The Force Awakens. Weird Jedi didn't make the cut, especially with The Black Hole on there.

Could you allow for forgetting "the" or "of" in Eternal Sunshine or Attack the Block?

attack of the block but no Incredible shrinking man lol....no Day the earth caught fire...Quatermass and the pit....This Island Earth...Barbarella....Dark City...Final Countdown...Frau Im Mond...Hardware...The Hidden...First men in the moon (in fact no Ray Harryhausen at all) tooooo many to mention.... so many excellent films NOT on the list and more than a few that should be forgotten....I know it's popular mechanics list but boy there are some great films missing
