30/30. O... M... G! I thought I'd never get Lahore; who knows regions of Pakistan anyway? I tried so hard thinking of any name, and then I tried Punjab although I thought that would be wrong.

People in Pakistan probably do.

I felt that "Punjab" was fair game because (a) this is an English-speaking website, India and Pakistan are both English-speaking countries, and anyone who knows the geography of either will be able to name that region; (b) Punjabi cuisine, especially if you count chicken tikka masala, is now ubiquitous throughout the English-speaking world, so some people will have heard of it that way; and (c) the quiz quietly accepts "Mogul" as an alternate answer (much the way it accepts "Aragon" as an alternate answer for "Catalonia"), and the Mogul Empire was memorable enough in world history that the name "Mogul" entered the English language with the definition "a powerful person".

Is anyone else having a problem where none of the answers work at all? Very odd.
+1
level 56
Apr 11, 2013
The problem is that even though you may have the correct country, the answer they're looking for is a territory within that country. In my opinion, each clue should specify what level of region the answer belongs to. Such as country, province, city, etc.

level 72

Not really necessary if you know your capitals. I mean, Sydney is not the capital of Australia. Canberra is. So... if you keep typing in Australia when you get to Sydney, that's your own fault. Often national capitals are also the capitals of whatever region or province they belong to- but in the case of national capitals on this quiz the answer is always the country, not the region or province. So... just assume the biggest possible area that the city is a capital of and you will get the correct answer.

The problem is most likely that the answer space isn't highlited. This quiz only allows you to answer that specific clue before moving on to the next.

Nov 6, 2017
The only problem is for people who know it as Czech Republic or Czechia and type the whole thing out, before realizing it accepted Czech. The people from the Czech Republic/Czechia are Czech, not the name of the country. It is like accepting Irish for Ireland or Chinese for China. If someone were to type in Czech, they would get it correct 99% of the time by typing the rest of the name.
