Goodness! Thetford? How far thou hast fallen. Steyning too. I hadn't even heard of Milton Regis.

Yep. This was before the most important British urban centres shifted up north, which only had a handful of larger settlements at this point in time. A lot of counties didn't have settlements that would pass a figure of about 700 people at time either.
