I thought the same thing. If we're going to accept answers that aren't correct, can we also accept Tashkent for the capital, or ruble for the currency?

Same here. Never heard of Niyazov, but I would have gotten Berdimuhamedow. Even if first name were required too. Some names are just memorable.

Wiki says the gas crater was set on fire intentionally, not accidentally, although it was never meant to keep burning for 50 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darvaza_gas_crater
