i thought Yekaterinburg only had like 1 million people. Istanbul? (is on both sides) Lyon 7 mil?

The majority of istanbul's population is on the Russian side, I tried it too just in case.

Lyon over 7 million people?.. I think not. In 2014 it was 2.2 million (metropolitan arean). Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes has 7.8 million people in an area of 69,711 km2..
