Guess the lyrics to the British national anthem (this is only the first verse as it is the only verse people sing and so as to be consistent with other national anthem quizzes).
Yes, I also like the second verse, but to be consistent with the other national anthem quizzes (theseones), I have not included it. Also, RIP HM the Queen.
Nominated. For consistency with e.g. the US anthems quiz, worth adding a note to clarify that this is just the first verse. (It's all that's usually sung, though the second verse, which someone has added in a comment, is often sung also at official occasions. There used to be another verse but was long ago ditched as being specifically English, and indeed anti-Scottish.)
On him be pleased to pour,
Long may he reign!
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King!
With heart and voice to sing
God Save the King!
