That's not true, Macedonia refers to a province in Greece. The country is officially Northern Macedonia.

Or North Macedonia. (Maybe all relevant quizzes need to be updated, eSwatini style.)

Many have been. So on this one when I tried Northern Macedonia and it didn't work, I assumed it wasn't an answer.

Fixed. We updated all the featured quizzes. It took a long time. This one was just featured a couple days ago, and I didn't notice. By the way, you can save time by simply typing "Macedonia" or "FYROM".

All of these make sense either because the country is affluent and bringing in workers, was formerly a colony, a relatively cheap place to retire or a bordering country that people flee to. And then there is Georgians in Greece. Can someone explain the connection?

Religion: Georgia is an Eastern Orthodox country like Greece. Also, Greece has a lot of important monasteries that attracts monks and religious scholars from all Eastern Europe.

There's only one country between the two, there are familial and cultural ties going back and forth, and as bad off as the Greek economy is the Georgian one isn't any better.

A first big wave of immigration to Greece came from the Greek minority of the Soviet Union after its collapse. The establishment of this migration route and the tolerance of the Greek state towards immigration from countries with Greek minorities (as in the case of Albania, for example) probably facilitated the subsequent arrival of ethnic Georgians for economic reasons.

idontkn1 is missing a point here: how to explain the large number of German immigrants to Turkey, to take the first example? Could it be that people of Turkish ethnicity may have German nationality yet move to Turkey?

Probably that along with numbers of German retirees who want a cheap mediterranean lifestyle

I am surprised at the amount of Haitians left in the Dominican Republic, with all the hatred, violence, and racism towards Haitians.

I haven't seen a wealth contrast as stark at any other border crossing. You're right - Haitians have had it tough in the DR, but it's a long border; it's the only border for both countries; and as bad as things can be for Haitians, there are also opportunities for income that are hard to find in Haiti.

Huh, I never realized Thailand has a large Nepali population. I know from my uncle (who is from Bangladesh but frequently visits Thailand) that there are some Indians and Bangladeshis in the country. I didn't know about Nepalis though, and since Indians usually outnumber other South Asian nationalities in most places, I'm surprised they aren't on here when Nepal is.
