Please accept Vatican for Vatican City

OK, "Vatican" will work now. The name of the country is actually "Vatican City", although I think with a population of less than a thousand that is false advertising.

I believe that Singapore belongs on this list. The distance across the Congo River at Kinshasa/Brazzaville is far greater than the distance across the Johor Strait at Singapore. The fact that one is fresh water and the other is salt water should not be of consequence.

Yes, I was tempted to include Singapore when this quiz was written, for exactly the reason you give. In the end it was decided to design it allowing border river frontages and excluding sea coasts, and that has been stated in the instructions.

Is it worth to consider adding Jerusalem?

I agree. Jerusalem straddles the border of Palestine, which is listed in several quizes as "197-204" countries.

Here we have a disputed capital next to a disputed border between two countries disputing each others existence. Which makes answering this question in 2014 very difficult.

How about Jerusalem? isn't that on the border too? I mean even if you say Palestine isn't a country, it still isn't part of Israel either.

If you count Lome here then you should also have Jerusalem.

I'm going to need that explained to me Wasn't the problem with Jerusalem the fact that it was on a disputed border? The border that Lomé is on is very much recognised by both Togo and Ghana... I lived there for a wee while back in 2014 and there was nothing disputed - has something changed?

Why are Lomé and N'Djamena out of alphabetical order? Completely threw me!

Porto Novo (Benin) reaches the border (river) with Nigeria. Something to consider?

Interesting one! I just had a look at satellite view on googlemaps and it does get pretty close, but there seems to be a clear, solid band of forest between the edge of the city and the border.

Sorry for the back-and-forth, but I would move Jerusalem to a grayed-out answer.
