HinesBrothers' Ultimate Puzzle Challenge

+1
Inspired by Kiwirage's Country-capital-knights-tour.

How to Play

Upon starting, you will have 60 minutes to complete the challenge which will take you all over the site. Make sure to read Kiwirage's blog first, as it explains the rules for the first part very well, with a training example too! Good luck, and here is the quiz. Who will solve it first? Any search engine is allowed to aid your solving!

Ooh fun. I'll be doing this later when I can get a computer.

I'll reply to the comment you posted on my quiz here, since it seems the most appropriate place (if you'd like me to reply somewhere else please tell me):

I hope I am not annoying you, but I still do not understand how I was supposed to see that. You say I was supposed to take the 5th, 7th, 7th, and 6th letters of "Michael", and that I was supposed to get the 5776 hint from the coordinates of the first and last letter on the grid, but the coordinates of the first and last letter on the grid were (4,3);(7,6). How was I supposed to get 5776 from 4376? Even if by "coordinates of the first letter plus coordinates of the last letter" you mean making the sum of the two I still don't see how I could get to 5776. I hope you understand the hints you gave were not very clear, to me at least

I found the country with the coordinates (5,0);(3,2). It seems like there are multiple possibilities, which doesn't help. 5776 (M and W in the grid) as an explanation makes no sense to me either, and I also couldn't get past the third question.

You are looking at the spreadsheet headers, not the grid headers I think.

There are only multiple possibilities if you use the same letter twice, which is against the rules.

(Replying to @HinesBrothers again)

But kiwirage's system was not capital-country, it was the other way around. In any case, I still don't see how, while taking the quiz, I should have understood that, since you only ask for the country and with the confusing hints given. I give up. In the next couple of days I might delete your comments about this under my quiz, since I don't really like having off-topic conversations in the comments of a quiz (don't take it personally haha)

Edit: Since I don't really know how the blocking function works (and it seems to be irreversible at the moment), I realised I can't really delete your comments, so I would be glad if you could delete them yourself in the following days (maybe repost them here if you don't want them to be lost)

Now I see I was confusing the spreadsheet numbers down the very left with the numbers in the actual grid. I also didn't realise there was a capital to be found since your question only asked for a country. And like crem said, my quiz went in the sequence Country-Capital. I do see how the 5776 coordinates work now.

Ok, I'll clarify that it is capital-country.
