France Day 3!

The beginning of day 3 was... eventful...

My sister and I had set an alarm the night before so we would be awake in time to get on the bus, and it did not go off. We woke up to the room phone ringing as the hotel desk was calling us because our group was ready to leave. That morning was a nightmare. We had to pack and get dressed in less than 5 minutes. No breakfast, just running to the bus. We had a 2 hour bus ride, so I did my makeup and watched TV on my phone. My whole group was kinda mad at my sister and I because we were late. Once we made it to our first stop, the day got a bit better.

A Morning in Chartres

Chartres is a gorgeous town with a beautiful cathedral that we visited. I loved the details in the architecture.

Chartres Cathedral

I think that its funny that they have this sign in the middle of this town because so many people come to see the cathedral.

This sign is adorable

Food Time!

We stopped at this little café near the cathedral and I got this baguette with butter and jam. I really enjoyed it, nothing beats bread in France.

After food, we got back on the bus for another hour or two. Which meant more TV and a nap for me. It was also nice to look out the window and see the French country side.

Good Breakfast

Châteaux du Chambord

The Châteaux du Chambord is a beautiful castle, that we unfortunately did not get to go inside of. However, I did get to explore the amazing gardens and exterior of the area. Something you may notice in many of the castle pictures is that a lot of them were undergoing renovations while I was there. It did not take away from the experience. Below are just some random pictures that I took at this incredible place.

Look at these gardens!
I am very proud of this flower picture
I just love this courtyard!

Next Stop: Tours

This cathedral was overwhelmingly tall. Like with most of them that I saw, the architecture was so unique and complex. I absolutely love the building style, I just think that it is so impressive.

Park Square
After the cathedral, my group spent a few hours walking around the city of Tours. We got to see the train station, the park, we even saw a protest (which was interesting).

We also saw this little cat in the street that was so cute. The cat came over to say hello, so I just had to take a picture of it.

Wrap Up

That concludes another blog. I am really enjoying writing these around once a week. I move into school later this week, and after orientation, I should have more time to write more consistently. If anyone has suggestions for my Contemplating the Mysteries of the World series, input would be definitely appreciated because I may have lost my sticky note of ideas...

Anyways, have a wonderful day!

Another great, well written blog Rosie.

I spent a few years travelling through France with work, mostly to Italy and Spain. It's nice to see some of the cities that I passed and didn't have time to visit.

@MG17....travelogue tag, mmm, may be useful. Although tbh I read every new blog thats posted. Some are not to my taste but I still read them. I suppose a new tag may be helpful to some.
