🔥How to prevent WILDFIRES🔥(human activity wise)

Brought to you by MrBLOGGER

Recently, wildfires have been a major issue as the world goes into the 21st century. They have been all over the news in all spots of the world - California, Asia, Australia. Although not ALL are caused by humans, when you go outdoors, try these tips to not cause one, because wildfires have big consequences.

Check the weather to see drought conditions

Check the weather

It is important to know what time of year you are traveling, or what place. If the place is experiencing a drought, don't camp there because your fires could spread quickly on dry grass. Try moving to a safer and less dry spot to camp. The same goes for any activity involving fire, such as fireworks.

Make a fire non-catching safe zone

Make sure the ground is clean

A fire-safe zone is any area that you can make/clean up to make it less vulnerable to fire. Examples of this include spending a day cleaning up flammable vegetation, leaves, or anything that can catch on fire at least 30 feet from your house. Prune away the lower limbs of evergreens that are within the fire safe zone, because they catch on fire.

Extinguish campfires/pits when finished

Doing this can save lives

This step is very important because sometimes people forget to turn off their campfire, and it ends up spreading and could possibly catch a whole forest.. Use water or sand to extinguish the fire. After finished, stay a couple of minutes to completely make sure.

Fireworks - only in treeless areas

Use them in the right area

If your having a 4th of July party or any celebration involving fireworks, make sure they are lit away from any trees, or to a lesser extent, bushes. Non-dry grasses and concrete are just right. It is important to know your terrain.

Have the right materials

This is needed

You can know where to locate, but having the right materials is just as important. What you should have to start a fire includes a spark arrester for cars, an extinguisher, and a rake (to scrap away leaves n stuff). However, one of the most important things you need is a fire spark toolkit, to start it. But make sure they are used right. At last, when you are finished, use a bucket of water to take out the fire safely.

Keep an eye

This is important

The last thing you want is to leave your camp unattended, then realize the whole place caught on fire. Leaving any flammable objects or the fire itself is very dangerous. To prevent this, make sure you at least have 1 person on guard. If that person detects something is going wrong, they can follow the steps above.

Trust the firefighters

They know what they are doing

A big mistake that people sometimes make is that when something catches on fire, THEY end up trying to fix it and it just makes it worse. Please trust the firefighters. They have had training and know how to handle these situations - because they have experienced more. Speaking of firefighters, make sure you press that 911 so they come to the resuce!

The worst story I can remember about wildfires, is the sad history of Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile. I wrote a blog about that.
