The Blog Games Season 1 Finale!

The Blog Games Season 1 has come to a close! Wow, 10 weeks have gone by fast! We will be taking a look at the highlights of the season and some additional stats!

First of all, we would like to share with you the leaderboard that we have been keeping track of over the past 7 or 8 weeks. Just a note, the New Blogger bonus was changed from 1 point to 0.5 points in Week 3.

Week 7: Overall best scores of any week in Season 1

Week 8: A typical week, season finale is announced

Week 9: Placeholder award for best story is announced but not determined, all milestones are included

Week 10: Last week of the season! Most likely second best week after Week 7.

Season 2 will most likely start in September of 2021. Anyone (with permission) is welcome to host their own Blog Games during the summer months. We may do a "highlights of the summer" Blog Games during September. Season 2 will most likely last until the end of December. We may also include some guest judges every few weeks. If there is anything you would like us to change/include in Season 2, please suggest them in the comments.

Surprise! I'm guessing you weren't expecting this to be in the finale, but here is the final grading for this season. This won't be counting towards any scoreboard or the season, and will just be graded by me, Ethaboo. This was what was going to happen for a few weeks, just me grading the blogs until ChineseChen decided to come and help with the project, and which I am very grateful for. Also, I won't be counting Honorable Mentions or new bloggers sadly but will be back to schedule in the next season. Also, since there are a lot fewer points for the criteria, 50 instead of 100 overall points, ties will not count except for the Number 5 position *wink wink*. But moving on from that, I present you to the Top 5 blogs of "Week 11"!

This blog is the "final" rank 5 position of the season. This blog explains a few random Why? questions that some people might have. This explains these questions in very nice detail, but the formatting could look a bit strange at times.

Beckette - Places In The World That Are Much Bigger Than You Think

Overall Score: 45/50

Well it looks like these two rank 5 blogs have matching scores, and also have the same author. This blog explains about places around the world that seem really small, but are actually much larger than most people might think.

cuotak - Chinese History 101 #1: Early Kingdoms

Overall Score: 46/50

So it looks like we skipped rank 4? I guess we'll find out why in the next rank, which will totally not be obvious. But besides that fact, this blog was a really good blog, with a lot of information that is really interesting and enjoyable to read.

cathlete - Some "Eurekas" of Mathematics - Part Five

Overall Score: 46/50

I guess we found out why cuotak's blog skipped rank 4, even if it was obvious. But this blog explained surreal numbers that I totally didn't understand at all. But the formatting was very pleasing, and the grammar as well.

Stewart - How I Made Random Category Elimination

Overall Score: 47/50

It looks like we skipped rank 2 like rank 4, I wonder how that happened? This blog explained in VERY deep detail about how Stewart created this specific quiz. Although hard to read the entire thing as it is very long, the statistics make it more confusing, but easier to understand at the same time. I enjoyed reading about it, and can't wait for more, although they won't be graded in the Blog Games until late July, if there are any until then.

cuotak - Chinese History 101 #2: Early Imperial China

Overall Score: 47/50

Obviously, this is tied for Stewart's blog, so it looks like the "final" week has had 3 ties in grading! This blog was much better than the previous one, and I enjoy how bloggers usually advance and learn new things as they grow unless I don't. Besides that, it included a lot more information, and the style of the blog was a lot neater.

As we wrap up the last final 5, I might have one final surprise (sort of). I have decided to split up the rest of June and July and also august into two parts, which I will grade each of these two parts of the summer before starting the second season. These two blog games blogs might have a few little extra details integrated into them, and I might consider hiring one of you to help me with 1 or both of these blogs. So if you are available for some of these days which I will confirm the date of in a few days, you are welcome to come join and help me with the grading. But sadly, this blog has come to an end, and I hope you have enjoyed the first-ever season of the blog games. I had a wonderful time working on this "game show" on JetPunk, and I can't wait to get started on Season 2. Finally, one more thing. I am planning to have a new blog coming out in the next coming days, that might be a bit more competitive than this one. Bye!
