Michigan has almost as many lakes as Minnesota, plus coastlines on 4 of the 5 great lakes (Minnesota only borders one of the great lakes). Another one-word for Michigan could also be Mo-Town, as it signifies the great Michigan auto industry (it's an abbreviation for Motor-Town) and the music label of The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, The Four Tops, etc. (though the blueberries are great here, too)
