How Do You Fall Asleep in 2 Minutes..??

+8

First of all, I'm sorry I've been offline so much, I've been extremely busy.

Now that that's out of the way, I thought I could make a blog out of this- insomnia. Turns out insomnia is such a big problem that everyone deals with it once in a while. Like one day I go to bed at like 9:30..and I'm still just staring into space (I would say I tried to count sheep...but that just seems a bit to desperate) at like 1 in the morning. It doesn't even feel like 4 hours just passed, because well you would get really bored in that period of time.

Well today is the day all of that changes. Hopefully. Here's how you can fall asleep in just 2 minutes. Some of these also include some "previous arrangements". But once you get into bed, I promise, you'll be asleep in 2 minutes.

Relaxing All Muscles (face muscles, mouth muscles, leg muscles, etc)

So basically what happens sometimes is that we can't find a good sleeping position. For example, if we're just laying in bed for a long time, it's most probably because our muscles are just really tight (if that makes sense). And when this happens, our brain starts sending signals to those muscles as in- "Why aren't you letting the body sleep?"

To fix this problem, the number one thing to do is to stretch in the day. So when we go to bed, our muscles are already relaxed, and we can find that comfortable sleeping position much more easily. The next step is to basically release the tension from the shoulders by relaxing them, which can go with Step 1.

2. The 4-7-8 Trick

Before you go to bed, you should stretch, yes. But something else that's very important is to simply exhale. And there's a trick for that as well. The 4-7-8 trick. These are the steps:

- Empty Air Out Of Lungs

- Breathe In From Nose for 4 Seconds

- Hold Breath For 7 Seconds

- Exhale Loudly Through The Mouth (This Makes A "Whooshing" Sound) For 8 Seconds

It might take a while, but it works eventually. Doing this simply clears your mind of thoughts and therefore anxiety- something that can stop you from sleeping faster. But if you do this trick every single day, you're going to fall asleep much faster once you actually get into bed.

3. Lower The Temperature

You can just literally lower the temperature, which tricks the brain it's time to fall asleep. The perfect temperature for falling asleep is 18.3 Celsius, which is 65 Fahrenheit.

Like I was saying, you can just lower the temperature. But taking a warm shower is also a very big factor. The warm water can actually stimulate a human's blood flow from hands to feet, allowing body heat to just naturally go away. When we get out of shower, our body goes through a huge temperature drop, which somehow makes the brain think, "Go to bed".

If you've tried to go to sleep when your body temperature is too high, this is probably why you can't sleep.

And that's it! Yes, there might be other ways, but these 3 were the ways I found most useful. Hope you can fall asleep in 2 minutes now too. Thanks for reading! :)

Thanks for this blog but none of them actually work (for me, at least). I am not insomniac but it happens sometimes like when I "accidentally" fall asleep at afternoon. Counting sheep, counting numbers, 4-7-8 none have worked for me! I believe the best method is to think about a good memory or visualise yourself in a beautiful place like a huge garden or beach and you should be all alone in that visualisation.

Counting [Whatever you want] has never worked for me (sometimes it even keeps me awake)

Counting sheep or whatever else makes you focus on something really hard, which prevents your brain from falling into the relaxing state that is sleep. Probably why people recommend it so much is that the myth is so prevalent that people fall asleep trying to count sheep, rather than falling asleep because they are counting sheep.
