IU spy: Sir, we have spotted a build-up of veggies and troops on the border of Oman. Do you think they could be planning an invasion?

Sir Governor of Oman: Anything is possible. But if they do, we may be able to call our allies from the Pentente to join and help us out.

Spy: I'll go back out and spy on them some more, to find out what they are really up to.

Governor: Good idea! Report back to me in 5 days.

The spy heads back out to the border and is alarmed to see thousands of Veggie soldiers move to the border over the 5 days. He estimates that there are roughly 10,000 troops preparing for something in the Arabian Desert at the border.

Vampire spy: Sir, we have spotted unusual movement from GIE's troops. It seems they are building up a large presence on the border of Vietnam. What if they decide to invade?

Sir Leader of Vietnam: If they decide to invade, we're probably screwed. However we may be able to convince the others in the Infinity League to join forces and counterattack them. Go back to the border, and take some more spies with you. Report back in 10 days.

Spy: Aye aye skipper!

A group of 30 spies head to the border to spy some more. However they soon realise that 30 spies is no where near enough to spy on the whole fleet of GIE's soldiers. From the ones that they saw, they estimate roughly 100,000 soldiers. And that is only at one section of the border.

turnbacktwo (at a national address): As a New Year's gift to the great citizens of our empire we will bring further glory to our great nation. We have recently conquered the Republic of Carolina's and left them with only a tiny island called Bermuda, in the middle of the Atlantic. We may go back to finish them off, but for now, our sights are set on an even greater conquest. We will head up to take all of the unclaimed land of Canada!

His speech was met with a mixture of applause and cheers from the crowd.

Meanwhile... over in the Atlantic, just north of Bermuda, a large fleet of the Med-At Navy sails towards Canada. Unbeknownst to them, a few other countries had already planned a similar invasion, and they weren't about to get their desired territory as easily as they might have hoped.

The Med-At fleet of warships reached St Johns in Newfoundland early the next morning. The sailors walked through the streets, and climbed the highest tower of the city, and then planted their flag, thus claiming the island as their own.

The people of Newfoundland didn't exactly welcome them, and they refused to join the empire. The sailors promised that turnbacktwo's government would treat the people with equal rights etc. and they finally agreed to join after they were each given a seventeen-scoop ice cream for final persuasion. After joining the empire, turnbacktwo quickly charged them extra taxes to fund the seventeen-scoop ice creams they thought they had gotten for free.

The sailors headed back to their ships, intending to conquer more land from Canada. But when they reached the port, they noticed warships from many other countries there. The were ships from GrandOldLand, the PBC/E, the Empire's Empire and the EMG. Napoleon was also there for good measure.

The sailors on the battleships of each nation load their guns and cannons, and prepare to attack each other. Just as a sea battle between the countries' seemed imminent, the captain of one of EMG's ships called out through a megaphone to the others...

EMG captain: To spare the lives of many sailors and soldiers, disarm your weapons, and let's settle this in a more appropriate way.

Everyone else agreed, and a representative for each of the country's were picked. They joined a group chat, and all decided the fairest way was to split the unclaimed land evenly. Well, everyone agreed except for GrandOldLand, who wanted it all to themselves. To appease everyone, they decided to all own the land together, in a trust union thing. They all owned it together, and they named the land, the Free State of Hudson Bay. They all signed a non-aggression pact together, over the Free State, meaning that no one could attack anyone over the territory.

Although an alliance was made between these countries, they decided to hold a vote between their respective leaders to see whether they should create an alliance together...

Dhruv's royal informer - General Chen: Your highness, we have intercepted some messages between Cohanu, Tokatu, and Fusealand.

President Dhruv: Yes, and what were those messages about?

Chen: Sir, we believe that they intend on uniting in an aggressive coalition against us!

Dhruv: Those blasted wretches! They think they can defeat our great Pacific country, eh? We'll show them the full force of Sawiwi's power! Activate our navy and army, and prepare our reserves for battle.

Chen: Sir, majority of our navy is still involved in a blockade around Cohanu. They have been stationed there since early 2020.

Dhruv: Splendid! Then notify them to prepare for battle. I will confront the leaders of these countries myself, and we will see what they have to say for themselves.

Chen: If they unite to destroy us, sir, would they be able to defeat us, do you think?

Dhruv: Of course not! And even if they could, we would just call Japan, America and Canada into the war.

Chen: But Japan, America and Canada have all been annexed or conquered by other empires. They no longer exist to help us out!

Dhruv: No matter! I'll call in my other trusted general, Ethaboo, to see what his projections show. We should begin to ally ourselves with other empires!

Chen: Which empires do we ally with? Should we join the Infinity League, or the Pentente, or neither?

Dhruv: I will let you and Ethaboo decide that. I trust you to make the right decision.

General Ethaboo: Sir, I believe that Sawiwi has enough to defeat all three of our enemies in a war, but we still have little to no data on the size of their reserve military. And if they introduce conscription, we may be outnumbered by far!

Dhruv: Let's stay optimistic. Again, we can ask other empires to help, if need be. Now you two must decide which alliance we should join, or which empires we should ally ourselves with.

General Ethaboo, and General Chen huddle together and discuss their opinions, before reaching their final decision.

Dhruv: Great decision! I knew I could trust you both.

Wow! This has been the quietest news update of late, but it is still full of international shenanigans and disputes! It seems the great war we're all expecting is right around the corner, and it will be interesting to see how the alliances react to the aggression shown by the GIE and the VC. Also, it seems Sawiwi has slightly altered its defensive blockade on Cohanu. What does this mean? We'll have to wait and see. For now though, here is an update on the world empires:
