Geography Snap Statistics (May 2023)

As many of you know by now, there is a leaderboard in every game mode of Geography Snap. More precisely, the 5 fastest players per day, per week and since the beginning of Geography Snap (not really, more like since 26^th October 2020). Well, the player Changedaworld invented a points system according to the rank of a player in the All-Time leaderboard. Here it is :

1^st place : 7 points

2^nd place : 5 points

3^rd place : 3 points

4^th place : 2 points

5^th place : 1 point

For the first time ever, this leaderboard didn't change at all.

The player who's the 1^st in the most categories is... Changedaworld, being first in 24 game modes.

The player who's the 2^nd in the most categories is... SilverDog, being second in 24 game modes.

The player who's the 3^rd in the most categories is... Dagod, being third in 32 game modes.

The player who's the 4^th in the most categories is... Sammyboi, being fourth in 8 game modes.

The player who's the 5^th in the most categories is... Sammyboi too, being fifth in 11 game modes.

Out of all 225 All-Time top-5s times, only 3 were improved, including 2 World Records...

And here is a leaderboard of the players who have the most CATs. A CAT (Category Association Triple) is when a player is in the same place in all 3 difficulty levels of the same category association.

A total of 32696 games were played in May, and the biggest day was May 28^th, with 1765 games played.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in an Easy game mode is 1,8 seconds, between Changedaworld's 3,8 seconds and Dagod's 5,6 seconds, in Capitals Easy.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Medium game mode is 4,3 seconds, between SilverDog's 7,9 seconds and Dagod's 12,2 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Medium.

The greatest gap between 2 consecutive players in a Hard game mode is 6,4 seconds, between Changedaworld's 12,3 seconds and Dagod's 18,7 seconds, in Countries Hard.

The greatest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in an Easy game mode is 3,8 seconds, between Changedaworld's 3,8 seconds and Batman23's 7,6 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Easy.

The greatest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a Medium game mode is 7,8 seconds, between Changedaworld's 7,7 seconds and BI's 15,5 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Medium.

The greatest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a Hard game mode is 10,3 seconds, between SilverDog's 14,7 seconds and BI's 25,0 seconds, in Countries, Capitals & Shapes Hard.

The smallest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a Easy game mode is 0,7 seconds, between SilverDog's 3,1 seconds and Batman23's 3,8 seconds, in Countries & Flags Easy.

The smallest gap between the 1^st and the 5^th in a Medium game mode is 2,1 seconds, between Changedaworld's 5,6 seconds and Dagod's 7,7 seconds, in Countries & Flags Medium.

The World Record that has been the most improved during May is, quite surprisingly, the Flags Easy game mode, where it has been improved from 2,1 seconds to 1,8 seconds ! That's 0,3 seconds that were cut off !

The non-World Record time that has been the most improved during May is the Shapes Hard game mode 5^th place, which has been improved from 15,5 seconds to 15,1 seconds ! That's 0,4 seconds that were cut off ! Well, it's also the only non-World Record time that has been improved during May, too...

The game mode where the sum of every time in the All-Time top 5 has been the most improved is Shapes Hard, where 0,4 seconds have been taken off.

If we add every time in every All-Time top 5, we get to... 2154 seconds, or 35 minutes and 54 seconds. That's 0,9 seconds that were cut off during May. And if we only take the time of the 1^st in every All-Time, we get to 318,1 seconds, or 5 minutes and 18,1 seconds. That's 0,5 seconds that were cut off in May.

Since only 3 World Records were broken in May, this section is a bit different than in April.

The first World Record of May was the Countries, Flags & Shapes Hard 11,8s, which was broken by Changedaworld 3 days, 16 hours, 58 minutes and 29 seconds after April was over.

The second World Record of May was the Flags Easy 2,0s, which was broken by SilverDog 19 days, 15 hours, 23 minutes and 45 seconds after the previous one.

The last World Record of May was the Flags 1,8s, which was broken by SilverDog 4 days, 2 hours, 26 minutes and 8 seconds before May.

The time gap between the first and the last World Records of May is 19 days, 15 hours, 23 minutes and 45 seconds.

In conclusion, this month has been... bad ? I can't say it was the worst one ever, although really nothing happened during May. But the first glitchless sub-2s has been done in May, so I cannot consider it catastrophic. For some reason, I think that June will be quite better, and who knows ? Maybe people will get interested in Geography Snap again ?
