Q1 is very ambiguous. It could be Hungary, the only one without blue on the flag. It could be Thailand, the only one outside of Europe. It could be Slovakia, the only one with an emblem on their flag. It could be Netherlands, the only one where it's capital isn't the largest city.

Puzzle 1: History related, so I am guessing Thailand because it's the only one I know which was never united with any of its neighbours unlike Slovakia (Czechoslovakia), Hungary (Austria-Hungary) and the Netherlands (United Kingdom of the Netherlands).

Netherlands never had a union with any of them, the Benelux union with Belgium and Luxembourg is just a concept. They used to own Belgium but that's not really a union.

Thailand was the only one not to be owned by the Habsburgs. Obviously Hungary under Austrian Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire, Slovakia also was part of those two, and the Netherlands was owned by Spain which was ruled by the Habsburgs for a while. Thailand obviously wasn't.
