Which Continent is Cyprus in?

Cyprus in my opinion is in Europe. It is actually technically in Asia but it is in the EU so it is definitely debatable whether it is in Europe or Asia. If you google it this what it says: EUROPE. Cyprus is an island nation in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Technically Cyprus is located in Asia but it is often considered to be culturally and politically a part of Europe and it has been in the European Union since 2004. So google is saying it is technically in Asia but is saying it is in Europe.

The majority of Jetpunk users insists Cyprus is in Asia. This is, according to google technically correct. But just because google says something doesn't mean it is necessarily correct. According to WorldAtlas Cyprus is considered a transcontinental country between Europe and Asia.

Cyprus is far closer to Turkey, Lebanon, Israel and Syria than it is to any European country. The closest European country to Cyprus is Greece. The distance from Cyprus to Crete it is 783 km. The distance from Cyprus to Silifke, the southernmost point in Turkey, is 146km.

I support that Cyprus is located in Asia. I know, Cyprus is in EU, but in this case, Norway is going to leave Europe? Despite this, isn’t because Cyprus is a country has a European culture, that he will belong to Europe.

Brazil for example, has many African people. EVERYONE IN BRAZIL, has African ascent. Because of this Brazil will belong to Africa? Well, maybe the TRNC can belong to Asia, when the rest belong to Europe...

Sometimes the geographic location doesn’t matter too. Trinidad and Tobago is closest to Venezuela, but TT belongs to North America. Isn’t because Alaska isn’t connected to the USA, that it is going to belong to Canada.

Well, it’s difficult, but I think a little bit more that Cyprus is located in Asia.

In my opinion, Just because a country is a member of a political organization doesn't distinguish its continent. If China decided to join the EU, would you put it in Europe?

Cyprus is closer to turkey than it is to europe. This is why I think it is in Asia.

I think Jetpunk should include Cyprus in both the Countries of Asia Quizzes and the Countries of Europe Quizzes. I also think that they should include Russia in both the quizzes but just the left half for Europe and the right half for Asia. Simple.
