James Burton, Doyle Dykes, Django Reinhardt, Chet, Buddy Guy, Albert White, Duane Allman, Mark Knopfler, to name a few, certainly were, in my opinion, better technicians and strung notes together more fluidly. Yeah, but Hendrix was a far bigger influence on guitar players than any of those guys. Tosin Abasi and Charlie Hunter are better than any of the guys you named from a technical standpoint, but when no one knows who you are, you aren't influencing too many people, and influence is an essential component of greatness.
