Number 16 is a mistake. It probably relies on a figure that counts citizens of the Confederate States of America as American. Confederate soldiers ought not be lumped in with American casualties, as they had to take an oath of loyalty to become full citizens after the war.

You might want to add an amendment to #18, or create a whole new Interesting Fact that goes, "A small portion of South Africa is the only part of Africa that is closer to Miami than it is to Boston", or perhaps, "The area around Cape Town is the only part of Africa..."
