"Blue zones" are areas with a large number of people who live to age 100 or older. Many people have written about the supposed healthy lifestyle of these areas. But new research has shown that these blue zones may not be real. In fact, they could actually have lower life expectancies, in addition to lower incomes and higher crime. All those people living to 100? It's possibly just the result of bad record-keeping and pension fraud.

Was Napoleon short for his time? We don't actually know. It all depends on how he was measured at his autopsy. Some people think that English units were used while others think that old French units were used. So he was either 5'2" (1.57m) or 5'7" (1.70m).
333
Peter the Great of Russia was extremely tall. At 6'8" (203 cm) in height, he would have been more than a foot taller than the average man of the time.
334
For every 17 women from 8000 years ago whose genetic line survives to this day, there is only one man who could say the same. How is this possible? Polygamy. Some men had many wives while most men had none.

Sgt. Henry Gunther was an American soldier who was the last person to be killed in action during WWI, just one minute before the armistice began. Disobeying orders, he charged with his rifle and bayonet at a German post. The Germans, knowing that the cease fire would begin soon, tried to wave him away. But Gunther continued charging and let loose a shot or two with his rifle. He was killed instantly by German machine gun fire.

One thing that I think would be good as a interesting fact is about 200 million Americans live in a state with a ocean coast, while only 125 million Americans do not, just a suggestion.

The reason Gunther did that is also interesting: "A critical letter home, in which he reported on the "miserable conditions" at the front and advised a friend to try anything to avoid being drafted, was intercepted by the Army postal censor. As a result, he was demoted from sergeant back down to a private." [...] "Gunther brooded a great deal over his recent reduction in rank, and became obsessed with a determination to make good before his officers and fellow soldiers." (Wikipedia)

Concepts like marriage, monogamy, chastity and sexual fidelity are evil plots designed to advantage the elites, keep women in a state of subjugation and repression, and force single men to become criminals or pariahs to satisfy their basic needs. Before the invention of wealth and property, and the creation of a class of social elites who had more, sex was free and democratic as it should be.

Quite the opposite. Polygynous societies created hordes of sexless, childless men while women, who had few rights, were compelled to compete for a share of one elite man's attention. The only real winners in that scenario were the small share of elite men.

While there were some rare ancient societies that practiced some version of free love, the much more common practice was elite men taking women by force, killing their rivals if necessary.

Monogamy was a vast improvement over previous systems. Places that still practice polygyny tend to be terrible for women and for non-elite men.

Your logic is that if I think marriage is bad, I should think multiple marriage is good? Your entire comment reinforces everything that I said.

Marriage is bad. Polygamy is worse. Both are tools used to subjugate women and advantage elite men. One is just a form of the other that makes this even more explicit.

334: 8,000 years ago human life style was not quite the same as today. Much like the animal world of today the best fighter or most frightening male got to fertilise the females. A lion king will be the father of many lionesses children, same as cattle, horses, sea lions, wolves etc. etc. that is the way of it. Just as in some religions the rich and powerful (or sect leader) will be able to have a number of wives or concubines. Mswati III King of Eswatini for example has 15 wives and 23 children.

Fact #422 should interest you:

"Sobhuza II was the paramount chief, and later king, of Eswatini. His reign lasted 82 years, the longest verifiable reign of any monarch in history. He had 70 wives and 210 children. Upon his death in 1982, his 1000 grandchildren constituted 0.16% of the entire population of the country."
