Only 16% for Philip K Dick!!! He's such a prolific author, that really surprises me!
Level 74

He was prolific, and loads of his stories were turned into films, but he's not particularly well-known. It's like Ira Levin; everyone would know the movies made from his books, but not many people know he wrote them.

um.. just saying but I am sad that more people know who wrote things like the note book and harry potter etc and didn't have a clue about Clancy, or Grisham.. seriously this makes me sad.

Very sad that only 20% of people got Anthony Burgess. An amazingly prolific author who also wrote non-fiction books. I read A Clockwork Orange 3 times when I was young. After the second time I read it, I found the glossary at the back. It had never occurred to me to look for it, and I had worked out all of the meanings of the slang by putting them into context. I once heard Peter Carey at a reading say that the A Clockwork Orange with all that unknown slang, asked too much of the reader. I disagree. Books that challenge you are the most rewarding and enjoyable to read.

All I could think of was Kubrick, because I kept seeing the film trailer in my mind, "Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange." Once that was in my head nothing else could budge it. Apologies, Mr. Burgess, since I read that you weren't too happy with the screenplay.

A Clockwork Orange doesn't much challenge anyone, though.

I'm shocked that To Kill A Mockingbird isn't on this list!

There's easily enough material for another quiz of this type... and so I made one.

Maybe it's because it was her only book until recently? IDK, but it is certainly one of the best ever book to movie adaptations. It and Laura Hobson's "Gentleman's Agreement" are both amazing and two of my favorites.
