But the clue says "An old, junky car", not "beat-up". If QM wanted "junker", he wouldn't have put it in the clue!

I agree. I also feel that "jaundiced" would work for the definition given for "jaded" but I realize jaundice was an answer elsewhere. However, I couldn't think of anything else for that one.:-)

Jettison should be accepted for jetsam. They mean pretty much the same thing.

"Jettison" is a verb...the clue requires a noun.

No, Jetsam is a terminology for items discarded, whereas jettison is the act of discarding said items... at sea
