Maybe I'm missing something, but why is this quiz set in the mode where you have to answer the highlighted one? I think it would work better if you could just type in the cities and you knew for sure, and then came back to the ones you couldn't remember at the end, w/o having to move that yellow box around.
It makes it more challenging. I personally like it this way, it makes me have to think about it, and anyway, it really isn't that difficult to hit arrow keys to change it.
Because of variant spellings found on both Wikipedia and Google Maps, I think you should accept Naypyitaw as well as Naypyidaw. (Same problem with World Capitals).

Dar es Salaam continued to serve as its capital, even when in 1964 Tanganyika and Zanzibar merged to form Tanzania. In 1973, however, provisions were made to relocate the capital to Dodoma, a more centrally located city in the interior.
Was on track for a 3:30 or better finish and came across Madagascar on the second last one. Now I know it's Antananarivo, but I cannot type that out fast for the life of me. Always need to slow down and make sure I'm putting in the correct number of syllables.
Ivory Coast (or Cote d'Ivoire) proclaimed their political capital to be Yamoussoukro in 1983. Abidjan is still called the economic capital of the country though.
When Indian children have to know how to spell things like Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte when they are ten...then they move to the USA and enter the Spelling Bee...they are given words like mispronounce...these kids are thinking..."Kindergarten level". No wonder Indian children come to America and win all the Spelling Bees.
I had a 3:19, but it is completely luck-based. I can't remember which ones were on that quiz, but they probably included some of the following: both Congo's, China, UK, USA, PNG, and other very quick type-ins. Having a time of 3:04 is still very impressive. I doubt I will be able to repeat any time under 3:15. People with very high words per minute may only get a time of 3:00 because he/she ends up with the worst countries for the purposes of this quiz, like Honduras, Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, Venezuela, Guinea-Bissau, etc while getting none of the short country names.
Oops, wrong quiz. Either way, I probably had short capital names. I for whatever reason thought this was where they gave the capitals and I name the countries. Either way, you get the point, no matter which version this quiz actually is.
this is what google has to say about the capital of Israel dispute- Tel Aviv and Jerusalem served as de facto joint capitals of Israel from May to December 1948. The Israeli parliament and the supreme court are both located Jerusalem, which makes it the legislative capital and judicial capital of Israel.
Yes! Got them all, with 2:34 remaining, at 6:55:36 PM on March 27, 2019. My countries were Vanuatu, Brunei, Cambodia, Seychelles, the United States, Portugal, Philippines, Switzerland, Nigeria, Mali, Slovakia, Oman, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Italy, Colombia, Andorra, Israel, Armenia, and Barbados. I did well because I have been practicing with capitals lately, but to all who take this quiz and do well on it, congratulations. It really shows that you know the countries and their capitals inside and out when you can match them in a random order, on the spot, like this. Well done to you all.
yey
One day, I will fail on the African capitals. I was lucky to guess Banjul for Gambia and Bamako for Mali this time.
