I got all the "-stan" countries first time, which is a first for me... I know Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kazakhstan; I can place Uzbekistan knowing it's doubly landlocked; but the other ones are just a guessing game.

One way to remember: if you go round the five former soviet stans clockwise, they are in alphabetical order.

Just remember that the two that don't begin with t (Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan) are on top and the two that do (Turkmenistan and Tajikistan) are on the bottom.

Also, Turkmenistan is the one closest to TURKey.

Everybody has their own ways to remember. I honestly wouldnt have been able to answer which were former soviet union..

MY logic was as follows, I remembered afghanistan being next to pakistan (and iran). Turkey being close to turkey. Kazakhstan biggest, the other k kyrgyzstan touches it. And uzbekistan larger than tajikistan since it is a bit less obscure.

Whatever works for you.

(Turk)menistan's closest to Turkey, and (K)yrgyzstan is closest to Kazakhstan. after knowing that, Tajikistan is the only one left.

I know the small ones just by knowing Kyrgyz is on top and Tajiki is on bottom. The other ones are easy. Capitals (Uzbek, Tajiki, Kyrgyz), i always mix up.

Yah, that’s enough countries for a new quiz. It’s kind of like saying South America, but without Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Guyana, Suriname and Ecuador. Basically the same quiz, right? No.
