I'm disappointed that your list of famous people from England is almost entirely populated by figures from the world of entertainment (film/TV/sport). England produced such a wealth of serious talent from fields such as the scientific - Newton, Faraday, Rutherford, Hawking - literature and poetry - Owen, Shakespeare, Dickens - Philosophy and religion - Thomas More, Anselm, William of Ockham, Bacon, John Stuart Mill - and Music - Britten, Sullivan etc. that it seems a shame that in your mind we are to be represented by a group of mostly TV people from the past 100 years.
