Wild to see Trout outside the top ten. It's not unreasonable, but I'd still prefer him on my team over J-Rod or Soto (at least for now), and although Harper is probably as good a hitter, his value is diminished as a first baseman. Ohtani's value also goes down because he can't pitch this year. Realistically, I still think Trout is a top-five player in the league, at least for 2024. I think only Acuna and Betts are obviously better. Freeman is probably a better hitter at this point, but, as with Harper, playing first base makes him less valuable in my eyes. Alvarez is only a part-time fielder. Of course, this list is from MLB.com., so it's going to be biased toward guys they want to promote, all of whom are at the top. They've never had much interest in making Trout their guy.
