The south has broken away, and you must name the states in order to get them back. And hurry, you have only 45 seconds!
Some states require you to type them multiple times to be accepted. See the answer table to figure out how many times you must type it.

you only gave a time limit of 35 seconds... maybe it's just me but it's not all that easy to type north carolina four times in a row, virginia five times in a row, tennessee four times in a row, mississippi three times in a row, etc. There doesn't seem to be a point.

They sent a significant number of troops to the south, they had splinter governments declare southern statehood, and the Confederacy recognized them as states.

I think a way you could make this quiz more user friendly is with a bit of SVG magic. I think there must be a way to have the states change colours so that you see a change on the map when you type them once. Then, when the colour hasn't disappeared, you have to type them again and again until they disappear. I'm no programmer, but I think this is possible based on other quizzes I've seen.
