Origin: PSIS, dorsal surface of sacrum, mammillary processes of lumbar vertebrae, transverse processes of thoracic vertebrae, articular processes of C4-C7 vertebrae.

Insertion: Spinous processes of lumbar, thoracic and cervical vertebrae
