Tropical cyclones are sometimes known as hurricanes or typhoons
this one is rather confusing, what about India, Bangledesh Burma (Myannamar ) and a few others.. they also get hit by tons of cyclones, which to me are not hurricanes, those are from the Atlantic, yet Cuba was an answer.
That's the same thought I had, kept trying everyone in SE Asia, wouldn't have thought of Cyclones in the Caribbean, usually refer to them as hurricanes
Just referencing the Taino (I think) word that's something like "oo-ra-can", meaning angry god or high wind. I forget. They're the same storms, regardless of names.
I would think that fewer storms hit those countries simply because they're smaller. Places like Mexico, the US, and Australia have huge coastlines and so are bigger targets. Besides, there are several Pacific nations here, like the Philippines, Japan, and Taiwan.
