"Material" feels like a misleading clue, material you make something out of and I can't imagine what you'd make out of gunpowder, you just use it as is, don't you? Substance would be a better word.
So many possible answers for the ground grey granular grit gravel that has no obvious clue to gunpowder to one who does not recognize the item shown with it; how about an actual shotgun shell? or fireworks display?
Yeah, my best guess was gravel. I always assumed that gunpowder was a... you know... powder. It never occurred to me that granular stuff with grains large enough to grit your driveway would be gun"powder".
I, too, said gravel at first. Took a while and a few guesses before gunpowder. Only then did I realise that it's a bullet in the photo. I live in a country with an appropriate level of gun laws, so the bullet wasn't so obvious to me...
You were indeed. Don't you know Disney tends to simplify everything? There is a confusion between the medieval gargoyles depicted in Victor Hugo's novel and the famous chimeras added by Viollet-le-Duc circa 1850.
In fact, it is a chimera. Maybe a lesser-known but more appropriate picture could be chosen... There are a bunch here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gargoyle
lol I glanced quickly at the gold panner picture and thought he looked poor so I typed in "Great Depression." Didn't realize until the end of the quiz that I hadn't actually gotten that picture correct.
The year is 50 BC. Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely... One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders.
The Super Duper Depression
The Really Neat Depression
The So-so Depression
The Mediocre Depression
The Lousy, Stinkin' Depression
Meh, I guess they got it right.
