No, principal is correct. It’s either a noun or adjective and, in this case it refers to the ‘most important’ or foremost of Hindu gods. It can also be used as a noun to refer to the ‘main’ person, or the person in charge.

Principle is never an adjective, only a noun and refers to a rule, law, concept or code of conduct. Always best to check these things before critiquing the quiz writer.
